Dental Department Experience: Awful.
Never will I recommend this place. The main room is a zoo at best. Kids all over parents not caring. The nurse is unwelcoming at the very best. Have to wait for the doctor to come in for a while most times. As someone who will lose their job if they are gone too long, I can not wait for the doctor Than the appointment, and than wait again for god knows how long to do blood work. Very unorganized. I was spoken to snotty by the doctor about not having done the blood work yet. Because of all the waiting here. And than she made the snotty comment of “ we’ll you agreed to so you need to do it.” And “I’m sure you don’t want to hear about the flu shot either right?” Excuse me. Unprofessional. I am doing blood work and taking my business elsewhere happily. I asked for my records to be transferred over the phone, nope. Won’t do it. Also won’t send the release form to sign so they can release them to new doctor. Unless of course I want to PAY for them. I either have to come there, and waste more time and gas or go to my new doctor with no records on file to have them send the form.
I had an appointment with William Yeomans, that I missed due to my daughter’s emergency hospitalization, the following week went to make a new appointment with my daughter’s hospital papers to show why I missed my last appt. the Front lady didnt even let me speak or show her anything, she told me “You missed your last appt that was for a Cleaning, now because of this we do not have anything available for you for the next 5 months” Yes, I went there on October and they gave me an appointment, for march, when I tried telling her I have a cavity thats bothering me she told me there is nothing she can do and that they will put me on a Cancelation list, they punish you if you miss one appt. well... right now I’m online searching for a new dentist.
Luckily I am not a patient here. I accompanied my friend who is a patient and we were sitting at the desk getting checked in and the girl was asking usual questions such as insurance, phone number, etc. All of a sudden the girl burst out laughing "HAHAHAH" We both gave her a look. She said, "Oh I'm sorry I'm not laughing at you, I was just laughing at a text I got." My friend is too nice and didn't say anything but if I was the patient I would have told the girl how UNPROFESSIONAL it is to be on your PHONE while dealing with A PATIENT. She couldn't wait a minute or 2 until we were done? Again, luckily I am not a patient here.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!! I've been going to Scranton primary for 7 years and I recently referred new people to Dr. Amy Schoonover cause for years she has been great with me but for whatever reason the day they went to see her she was unethical and RUDE. Made her 16 year old patient cry and called her an "animal". I'm waiting for a call back from HR from Scranton Primary and if I don't get a call back I will show up there. I WILL NEVER EVER REFER ANYONE TO AMY SCHOONOVER OR SCRANTON PRIMARY AND I WILL NOT BE RETURNING AS A PATIENT.
This rating is for Scranton Primary Dental, the low ratings had me a little scared to even call and make an appointment with them but I'm SO VERY happy I did and I will continue. I honestly DO NOT KNOW why they have such a low rating because in all honesty I'd give them a ten star, if it would go that high. I was very satisfied with the way the ladies treated me. Dr Schaefer, Laura and Rita were all very kind, respectful, helpful, joyful and made me feel right at home and comfortable.. They went above and beyond and took time to explain different denture options I could choose from and she even complemented my smile and explained to me that I could keep my beautiful smile that I thought I'd just have to get pulled even though I'll have a whooping 12 teeth that I should be able to save of my own because mind you I could only chew with my front teeth for over a year.. Nobody knows my She told me that she will make sure I don't lose my beautiful smile and She assured that once my OBGYN at Scranton Primary (same building appt is towards the end of this month) gives me a letter for permission to proceed with whatever work I need done just so my unborn child and I are doing well and it's safe. She will make sure I am taken care of and I will still have MY own beautiful smile.. Please DO NOT listen to the ratings below. This is just my opinion but maybe those people just didn't like that they didn't get exactly what they wanted, when they wanted it. People are so selfish at times and even when they are respected by others like the WONDERFUL Women (I'm sure the Men staff are just as WONDERFUL). So say someone is medication seeking and the Drs refuse to give them a narcotic. That patient is going to talk down on that place and it's sad because I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND making an appointment with them and I PROMISE you, you will NOT regret it...
