As a health care provider myself, I strive to provide my patients with the best care every single day. When it comes to my own health, I expect the same in return. It is a shame that the Geisinger organization has let the providers (doctors and nurses) who work for them down who are pleasant and work hard to provide their patients with the best care. I have no complaints about the doctors and nurses I have seen. However, I am extremely disappointed in the total lack of effort that is put into getting patients into the practice. I am a PATIENT. Not a client. Not a customer. This is my health. I have called three times to be scheduled for a procedure that was prescribed for me a month ago. The first two times I was told I would receive a call back because the department needed to review my paperwork. Then I called back to see what was taking so long (weeks) and I was put on hold twice, transferred and ended up leaving a message for someone to call me back (again). They never did. Not only that, the girl on the phone said that it made no sense why they didn't just get me scheduled... and then did the same thing the first two people did. Transferred me to an answering machine. If you do not want to do the job, don't prescribe it. The building is beautiful, the doctors are good, the rest is awful. I could go on but I won't. Do not be fooled by the pretty packaging.
My doctor is "The Greatest." However, his caseload is ridiculous. Geisinger needs to hire much more ancillary staff members. The quality of care that I receive is affected greatly because: more doctors are needed and a lot more ancillary staff are needed. There is too much paperwork and too few staff. My doctor's caseload is enormous. Then add all the paperwork, phone calls, etc and its frustrating. It was a great care provider (ie Geisinger).). I used to be able to hear back from my doctor the same day but there's absolutely no way these days because of all the patients paperwork, calls etc. In closing, its all about the money of course. If I didn't love my doctor I would leave Geisinger.
I've never have a problem up until today!
I love the staff at Geisinger Mount pleasant in the women's health department! They are very knowledgeable, helpful, and considerate! I see a doctor every time I go to an appointment which is extremely rare at other facilities
I call this morning for an appt. They told me to come in at 2:45, I said ok, but the window is gonna be tight, I have to be at a viewing at 4:30. The receptionist assured me I'd only be there for 20 minutes.
Got there @ 2:30, brought to the back @ 2:45, and sat there waiting to be seen. Stepped out the door 3 times and didn't see anyone.
There's No paperwork! None! it was the best experience i've had paperwork wise. Dr. Sluck is a fantastic Dr. kind, he didn't rush the visit. he made sure I had all the meds I needed. Absolutely 5 stars!
Walked out @ 4:15 after NOT BEING SEEN!!!
