Rooms are old and definitely need updated. The so called cleaning people(husband/wife) which speak hardly any English knock daily and tell you its time to check out (after I paid for 5 days) I had to show my receipt 2 days in a roll then ask if you need service (I had my do not disturb sign on cause my husband was working nights. I would think a hotel in downtown would be nicer. I also think if you're working with public you should be able to speak and understand English. Won't ever return here!!
I don't agree with the recent bad reviews of this place. For the money (and it was a bargain even for Scranton) the accommodations were clean and tidy. I was in town for a wedding and the staff let me check in early at no additional cost. Are there better hotels in Scranton?...sure, but not at this price. Stayed one night and it was more than adequate. If you're looking for a decent and safe hotel at an affordable rate this is your place.
I chose this motel for its location (I had arrived in Scranton by bus and was on foot) and because it's inexpensive. It was a gamble, but I found the room clean and its surroundings quiet, the heat all one could ask, the bed and chairs comfortable. I could have paid three times as much and done no better. Others can give their own accounts, but my experience was positive.
My husband and I need a place to rest while on the road, the Red Carpet Inn & Suites was convenient and reasonably priced. I was sleeping and I woke up to burning on my arm, then itching on my back. I woke my husband who said I had a line of bumps on my arm and back. I turned on all the lights and sat on the bed and that's when I saw a small black bug crawling in and out of the pillowcase! We left. The clerk did offer us another room, but I just asked for a refund. I'm not saying there's an infestation but beware there is bedbugs in room #243.
Decent enough. Clean, reasonable amenities, everything in the room worked, room was a decent enough size. Not exactly fancy but not a dump either.
