Service here was exceptional. I did not stay here, just a quick sit down with friends, but... WOW... I never knew there were such nice, respectful people in Scranton, nor such a beautiful place. Even has color changing lights that illuminate the outside of the building at night. All of the areas were clean. Inside and out. I had a very enjoyable time here
Clean but dated. Very pleasant front desk staff. Room was very clean (I work at a 4 star hotel and my standards are fairly high). No bathroom issues, bed inspection was clear, kitchen area was clean. Only criticism is that the place is showing age. It's evident the management and staff have maintained it well, but some reinvesment in the hotel will need to be maintained in the near future in order for it to remain decent. My guess is the hotel is approaching it's end of life of 20 years or so.
The front desk was amazing but either the maids or the maintenance girl are thieves because I stayed there for a year and I had left for 2 weeks, I came back and a PS3 game and Jungle Book Movie was missing along with jewelry. I put the DND sign on my door and for some reason the maintenance girl said she had to do some BS to the ceiling in my restroom...I'm thinking, there wasn't anything wrong with the ceiling. It had to be her, the maintenance girl. They got good waffles though
Needed a room Monday night at the end of the Labor Day weekend. I was assisted by Bernice at the front desk, got a good rate, had a beautiful room, was invited to relax in the lobby with a glass of wine with some snacks. I'm very grateful for the warm welcome and informative staff when I found myself stranded for the night. Bernice made my stay a pleasure not a burden. I think very highly of the Marriott properties as I know the name is a guarantee of cleanliness, hospitality and convenience the world over.
Stayed there twice within one week. The front desk staff were friendly enough with the exception of one woman who wasn't so pleasant when we were trying to check in. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. The morning staff who work in he kitchen/serve breakfast are super friendly.
