Really awesome experience for only 10$ a person. Outstanding tour guides and a very unique tour. I highly recommend stopping by for an hour.
We brought our family of 11 and had a wonderful experience. The guide was very personal and gave lots of information. Great for all ages. Highly recommend it!
A surprisingly good time for two adults. We spent an hour touring a ~100yr old coal mine in Scranton, PA. Descending 1/4mi. underground via an old rail car that miners once used to go to work. We really lucked out with an excellent tour guide who happened to have worked the coal mines of western PA for much of his life. There were so many interesting aspects of this tour.
Coal mining was horrible. The tour was awesome. If you haven't gone you should go. If you've already gone you should go again.
Be aware that there are multiple different times of when the tour starts, they based the time off of when the first tour leaves and goes down + an hour. so there is varying information online as to the time that the tour starts. We arrived at 2:20 thinking we might be able to make it but we didn't make it. thankfully they were very nice and decided to schedule another tour because of the group that was there. we had a very good time underneath. but be aware to turn on airplane mode so you don't drain your battery well you're taking pictures. I would definitely come again, and our tour guide even gave some unique personal stories from being in there during a thunderstorm. Price was reasonable, and I even got a shower out of it...
